In 2017, the Construction Specifications Institute Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter and the Associated Builders and Contractors Easter PA Chapter collaborated to create a Let’s Build Construction Camp for Girls, a free weeklong camp for high school-age girls to explore careers in the construction industry through hands-on learning and building.

This year, advanced campers built a shed for a homeowner who cast the winning bid during a Lehigh Valley Habitat for Humanity fundraising auction. In July, seven high school girls got together for one week to build the structure from start to finish.

ATAS International Inc., Allentown, Pa., has sponsored the camp every year, and ATAS International staff members participate in curriculum planning as well as on-site training and instruction.
