NRCA gathered for its 76th Annual Convention Feb. 4-6, 1963, at Sheraton Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. During the convention, Charles Griffiths Sr., then president of Binghamton Slag Roofing Co. Inc., Binghamton, N.Y., served as NRCA president; Calvin Bowman, then president of Standard Roofing Co. Inc., Oklahoma City, was awarded NRCA's prestigious J.A. Piper Award; and Fred Good (pictured at the top of the stairs on the left) was beginning his sixth year as NRCA executive vice president.
